Celebrate International Women's Day with Faïza Guène

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, French author Faïza Guène will be in conversation with her translator, Sarah Ardizzone, at the French Institute, on Friday 6 March, 6.30pm.

Born in France to Algerian parents, Faïza Guène wrote her first novel, Just Like Tomorrow (Kiffe-Kiffe Demain), when she was 17 years old. A huge success in France, it was shortlisted for the Young Minds Book Award and longlisted for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. She has since published four more novels, three of which have been translated into English by Sarah Ardizzone: Dreams from the Endz (2008), Bar Balto (2011) and the forthcoming Men Don’t Cry (Cassava Republic).
